YORKSHIRE FESTIVAL OF REAL ALE

The orgnisers of North Leeds Charity Beer Festival are always on the look out for the best beer from independent and micro breweries. This year we will feature some of the best Yorkshire has to offer.

Bridgehouse

Keighley

The Bridgehouse brewery started life in the Rams Head; Sowerby Bridge in 1990. They have move a number of times during the intervening years ending up in new brewhouse behind the Airedale Heifer pub at Sandbeds, between Keighley and Bingley, and the brewing is now done there. To this day Bridgehouse Brewery still use open top fermenters and traditional brewing menthods.

Aired Ale, 4.1% - English Pale – Malty biscuit in character with mixed fruit aroma and long-lasting finish

Blonde, 4.0% - Blonde – Big traditional flavours from a blend of 2 malts and 4 hops

Tequila Blonde, 3.8% - Blonde – Crisp blonde infused with Mexican tequila and lime

Porter, 4.1% - Porter – Strong toffee & malt flavours with a smooth after taste

Chin Chin

South Kirkby

Chin Chin Brewing which launched in 2016 is a one-barrel microbrewery run by two brothers in South Kirkby, Pontefract West Yorkshire.

Easy as ABC, 4.1% - Pale – An easy drinking pale

Eurohop, 3.5% - Session Pale – A session pale ale made with all European hops

Hypnotic Eye, 4.2% - Pale – An complex yet easy drinking pale

Interstate, 4.7% - US Pale – A 5 US hop pale ale

Great Heck

Great Heck have a reputation for producing both traditional and exciting modern beers. The brewery was establisted at the heart of Selby coalfield in 2008 and each recipe is crafted by beer lovers, for beer lovers.

Christopher, 4.5% - Golden Ale – Single hop golden alethat packs a hoppy, resinous punch

Trafalgar, 4.0% - Extra Pale – Moderate bitterness with tons of exotic, fruity flavours and aromas

Treasure IPA, 4.8% - IPA – Golden IPA with moderate bitterness and very distinctive tropical fruit

Voodoo, 4.3% - Dark Mild – Chocolatey, roasted flavours dominate

Mill Valley

Cleckheaton

Opened in 2016 Mill Valley Brewery is a micro brewery and bar based in Cleckheaton West Yorkshire

Fudge, 4.6% - Stout - Smooth, rich stout with added chocolate brownie flavours

Looking Through the Window, 3.8% - US Pale – Plenty of grapefruit and citrus flavours

Panther Pale, 4.0% - Pale – Crisp & refreshing with mellow tropical fruit notes

Yorkshire Bitter, 4.0% - Bitter – Traditional Yorkshire Bitter

Naylor’s

Cross Hills

Naylor's Brewery began in 2005, based at the Old White Bear pub in Crosshills, near Keighley by "Brews Brothers" Stephen and Robert Naylor.

Brew 2500, 4.2% - Gold – Gold in colour and easy drinking

Nirvana IPA, 4.7% - IPA – An IPA packed full of aroma and flavour

Toffee Mild, 4.2% - Dark Mild – Made with black treacle for sweetness & toffee aroma

Yorkshire Ale, 3.8% - Bitter – Traditional Yorkshire bitter with a mellow finish

NightJar

Mytholmroyd

Slightly Foxed micro-brewery which is based in Hebdan Bridge and established in 2011 was rebranded and renamed in 2018 it became Nightjar Brew Co. After many successful years creating award-winning and popular cask beers, the brewery took a decision to undertake a significant rejuvenation.

At One With Eukanot, 4.1% - Extra Pale – Citrus on the nose with hints of papaya, lemon & lime

Hebden Hop, 3.9% - Blonde – Clean and refreshing

Moloko, 4.8% - Porter – Rich, luxurious mocha porter with the addition of 5kg of roasted coffee

School Night, 3.7% - Extra Pale – Lemon & pine on the nose with bitter grapefruit and floral notes

Quirky

Garforth

Quirky Ales is a small microbrewery based in Garforth near Leeds. They produce high-quality cask-conditioned real ales

Dragon Pale, 4.1% - English Pale – Clean and dry with tropical fruit and berry flavours

Garforth Porter, 3.5% - Porter – Dark and rich with a malty start

ITA, 4.8% - IPA meets Brown Ale – British malt profile with big US hops

Quirky Two Islands, 3.8% - NZ Pale – Spicy bitterness with a citrus fruit finish

Scarborough

Scarborough Brewery formed as a small microbrewery in 2010 in the North Yorkshire seaside town.

Chinook 4.1% - Pale – Refreshing and light with citrus aromas

False Alarm 4.0% - Pale - Pale session beer

Sealord, 4.3% - Gold – Hints of lime, grapefruit and melon

Trident, 3.8% - Pale – Refreshing flavours of lemon and passionfruit

Wilde Child

Armley

Established in 2010 this Leeds based micro brewery specialising in the production of big, bold and hard hitting bottled and kegged beers that make you think about what you drink.

Columbus 5.2% - Pale – Big American hop flavours

Mutiny Rising 5.1% - Stout – Rum & Raisin Stout

Sgt Hugo Stiglitz, 3.999% - German Pale – Ingloriously light and crisp with a dry finish
